Facilities Management & Planning

Overview

For information regarding University Facilities Modification and Project Initiation Policy, please follow the link.

Facilities Management and Planning takes care of all buildings, building systems, and landscaping at the Pepperdine Campus. We take great pride in keeping our campus beautiful and our buildings operating effectively, comfortably, and safely. For questions or service "One Call Does It All", at ext. 4101 or by e-mail: Facilities and Management & Planning.

FM&P has two units: For general care of the campus, Facilities Services and Campus Services maintain the buildings and grounds. The Campus Construction & Planning Department, manages space planning, remodeling, interior design and signage. Please see their websites for more information on how to use their services.

To provide you with faster and more comprehensive maintenance and custodial services, FM&P has a building “Ambassador” system. Ambassadors are each assigned specific buildings as their “territories” and will make every effort to keep them well functioning, to provide preventative maintenance, and to quickly resolve problems. They are “generalists” who can perform a variety of repairs, or can summon specialized crews when needed. Your Ambassador will follow-up on all work requests to see that they are completed. If you meet an Ambassador “on patrol”, feel free to discuss your building's needs...and let your Ambassador know if you are satisfied!

Initiatives

Ambassadors * Beat the Call * Streamlined Processes

The new Facilities Management and Planning department was recently restructured to better serve our customers. As a part of the restructuring, two important units of CPO were transferred to other areas within the Business Services division of the University.

Effective August 1, 2002, all requests for event setups should be sent to the Malibu Warehouse. The goal is intended to streamline the operation and to eliminate any confusion when you request event setups or have campus moving requirements. Additionally, Automotive Services was transferred to the Transit Services division of Business Services. This change should be transparent. Just remember to send your repair requests to Transit Services.

Again, our goal is to improve the delivery and efficiency of the many services we provide to our customers.
