Outdoor Recreation

About Us

Here at outdoor recreation, we strive to create a space for students to build a supportive community and environment where they can be challenged to move beyond their comfort zones. Within this community, we aim to facilitate connections to nature, God, and fellow Pepperdine students through the various outdoor activities we do! With activities ranging from rock climbing, skiing, and camping to backpacking, beach days, and movie nights, outdoor recreation has something for everyone and we welcome all experience levels!

Every year, Outdoor Recreation chooses a theme that embodies the mission for our community: this year’s word is “Rooted.” Where is your foundation? What is the soil that is enabling you to flourish? Whether you’ve been freshly transplanted at Pepperdine or you’ve been growing here for the past few years, this topic is relevant to us all—amidst the storms of life, establishing roots enables us to remain unshaken. This could look like finding community, discovering passions, or deepening in faith. At Outdoor Rec, we find a lot of clarity on these big topics when we are in touch with nature. We would love for you to join us on all our adventures as you navigate this exciting time in your lives and we “pray that you, being ROOTED and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people.” - Ephesians 3:17-18.
