AlcoholEdu for College

AlcoholEdu for College is an online, science-based program that provides the latest information about alcohol and its effects on the body and mind. The program includes several chapters of content, interactive exercises, and assessments of alcohol-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Whether students choose to drink or not, this course will empower them to make well-informed decisions related to alcohol and other drugs.

The course contains two parts: 

  • Part 1 of the course takes approximately two hours to complete, and you are welcome to take it in multiple sittings. This part ends after the Exam and Survey 2. You must earn an 80% or higher grade to pass and receive credit for the course. Part 1 will include information on the following: 
    • Overview of Key Definitions
    • Myths and Misperceptions
    • Alcohol and Motivation
    • Standard Drink
    • Blood Alcohol Concentration
    • Key Strategies for Drinkers
    • Key Strategies for Non-Drinkers
    • Bystander Intervention Skills
    • Academic Brain Science
    • Media Literacy and Expectations
    • Alcohol and the Law
    • College, Drinking, and Stress
  • About 30 days after completing Part 1 of the course, you will receive an email asking you to complete Part 2. Part 2 will take about 15 minutes to complete.

FAQ

Who is required to take AlcoholEdu for College?

  • All incoming students and transfer students will be required to take AlcoholEdu for College Course.

How do I take the course?

  • The email invitation to complete the training will be sent to your Pepperdine email address from “Pepperdine Training” after you complete the enrollment in classes. Please make sure to check your junk mail folder.
  • If you did not receive the email, try the alternative login option by clicking on this link: https://pepperdinestudents-ca.safecolleges.com/login
  • Use your Pepperdine Wavenet Network ID to log in. You can access your training under the “My Assignments” section.

How would Pepperdine University know that I have completed the course?

  • Pepperdine University will be automatically notified when you complete the course; no other action is required after completing the quiz.

Will Pepperdine University have access to my answers in the course?

  • No. Your answers are confidential. Any responses you provide will be grouped together with other students' answers, and no one will ever connect you with your responses.
