Welcome to Finance

Message from the Associate Vice President and University Controller

Welcome to the Pepperdine University Finance Office webpage. The mission of the Finance Office is to support the University's mission of educating students for lives of purpose, service, and leadership by encouraging good stewardship of University resources, providing efficient, friendly service to internal and external constituents, and by providing relevant financial information and analysis in a timely manner.

We hope you will find what you need in these pages, which are currently organized by department. You'll also find contact information for each department, and for the University's Major Area Contacts in the box to the right. We've also listed some quick links to commonly-used resources below.

Take a look around. If you have trouble finding what you need, or think we should include something else in the pages, please get in touch. If there's something that we can do to make your interaction with our office better, we'd like to know that as well. You can always contact me directly at brian.thomason@pepperdine.edu. Again, welcome!

Bank Change Information

The University has chosen to transfer its primary banking relationship to Wells Fargo Bank. We believe this change will be beneficial to all University community members and are looking forward to this new relationship. We will begin the transition on May 16, 2016 and anticipate completion by mid-summer.

How does this change affect departments and individuals within the University community?

  • Incoming Electronic Payments – Departments receiving electronic payments (wire or ACH), will be contacted with specific instructions to provide customers.
  • Payroll – Direct deposit and paper checks will be processed in the same manner and no action will be necessary for departments or individuals. Paper checks will be drawn on a Wells Fargo bank and may be cashed at Wells Fargo branches at no charge.
  • Student Refunds – All refunds will be processed in the same manner and no action will be necessary for departments or students. Paper checks will be drawn on a Wells Fargo bank and may be cashed at Wells Fargo branches at no charge.
  • Cashier's Office – All transactions processed by the cashiers (in person or on-line departmental deposits) will be processed in the same manner and no action will be necessary for departments or individuals.
  • Accounts Payable/Purchasing – Goods and services should be procured in the same manner. No action will be necessary for departments or individuals requesting payments to vendors.
  • Employee Reimbursements – All reimbursements will be processed in the same manner and no action will be necessary for departments or individuals. Paper checks will be drawn on a Wells Fargo bank and may be cashed at Wells Fargo branches at no charge.
  • University Credit Card – There will be no change to University credit cards, including the reallocation and substantiation processes. No action will be necessary.
  • Merchant Services - No action will be necessary for those departments that collect credit card payments from customers.
  • ATM – The Bank of America ATM located near the Sandbar will remain for several months. Please look for announcements about the ATM in the future.
