Applied Behavioral Services

The George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management of Pepperdine University seeks a tenure-track faculty member in Applied Behavioral Science effective August 1, 2016, pending position approval. The School offers several master's degree programs and one bachelor's degree program in Southern California - the main campus in Malibu, and at campuses in Encino, Orange County, West Los Angeles and Westlake Village. Average class size is under twenty-five students. Opportunities to teach in more than one program and location promote interacting with students from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and years of experience in business. We seek candidates who are skilled in facilitation of experiential learning and team-building, and who bring a personal commitment to enhancing personal and professional growth for themselves and others. The ability to create a supportive and positive classroom environment for students is required. We seek faculty who enjoy collaboration within and across disciplines and place a high value on collegial relationships.

Successful candidates will have a terminal degree in Organizational Behavior or related field such as Human Resources, and will have demonstrated scholarly capabilities, strong experiential teaching ability, and significant business or managerial experience. Candidates are expected to demonstrate competency in fulfilling their professorial responsibilities within a culturally diverse environment, among faculty, staff, and students. Positions are ranked from assistant professor to associate professor; rank, salary and benefits are commensurate with experience. Pepperdine will have representatives at the 2015 Academy of Management Annual meeting in Vancouver, Canada.

Accounting

The George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management of Pepperdine University seeks a tenure-track faculty member in Accounting effective August 1, 2016, pending position approval. Degree programs of the School are offered at Pepperdine University's main campus in Malibu, and at campuses in Encino, Orange County, West Los Angeles and Westlake Village. The School offers several master's degree programs and one bachelor's degree program. Opportunities to teach in more than one program and location promote interacting with students from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. A candidate is expected to demonstrate competency in fulfilling their professorial responsibilities within a culturally diverse environment, among faculty, staff, and students.

The candidate must have an earned doctorate in Accounting or be in the final stages of their dissertation. A CPA or CMA is desirable. Research support includes access to WRDS (Wharton Research Data Services) with Compustat and CRSP. A successful candidate will demonstrate scholarly capabilities, strong teaching ability and significant business or managerial experience. The candidate at the assistant and associate level will be considered; rank, salary and benefits are commensurate with experience. Pepperdine will have representatives at the 2015 AAA Annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

Opportunities to teach in more than one program and location promote interacting with students from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Candidates are expected to demonstrate competency in fulfilling their professorial responsibilities within a culturally diverse environment, among faculty, staff, and students.
