The Pepperdine Graziadio new student onboarding experience is designed to prepare you to succeed in your graduate program. New student onboarding is a comprehensive (and fun!), multi-week experience that includes virtual and on-campus opportunities to network, learn about student services and resources, engage in career planning, and prepare for your academic program. At Pepperdine Graziadio, the entire campus community comes together to support your new student onboarding journey, and we can’t wait to welcome you!

Each full-time program has a uniquely tailored onboarding schedule. Therefore, dates and times vary by program.

Listed dates and times are subject to change. New events and information will be updated on this page as additional information is confirmed.

Things to Know

  • Dress attire: Comfortable, business casual attire is suggested for all events. We recommend wearing layered clothing and planning for potential outdoor seating and varied Malibu temperatures.
  • Driving directions: On-campus events will take place at the Drescher Graduate Campus in Malibu. Driving directions are located here. Upon arrival, students can park in lots S, T or V at the Drescher Graduate Campus.
  • Interactive campus map: To locate specific buildings or parking lots on campus, refer to the interactive campus map. Use the search bar at the top of the screen to type in the exact location, or click on the buildings and parking lots directly on the map.

Pre-Arrival Module

Location: Virtual - Login through your WaveNet Student Center To-Do List

In early July, you will receive an email from your academic advisor with instructions to access the virtual Pre-Arrival Module. This is a required, self-paced module that will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. 

The Pre-Arrival Module is designed to help you prepare for your arrival on campus, learn about student resources, and understand the action steps you must take before you begin your program.

Career Readiness Boot Camp: Four-Part Series

  • Part 1: Wednesday, June 26, 5 - 7 PM (PT)
  • Part 2: Wednesday, July 10, 5 - 7 PM (PT)
  • Part 3: Wednesday, July 24, 5 - 7 PM (PT)
  • Part 4: Wednesday, August 7, 5 - 7 PM (PT)

Location: Virtual - The boot camp sessions will be held via Zoom. A calendar invitation, Zoom link, and additional details will be emailed to you prior to June 26.

Come prepared to flex your career readiness muscles during this four-part series designed to get you pumped up to launch your career journey and get the most out of your time as an MBA student at Pepperdine Graziadio. You will partner with the Career and Professional Development team to strengthen your understanding of key networking, job search, and storytelling strategies for achieving your professional and career goals.  This boot camp will set you up for career success, help you define your unique career story and purpose, and lead you into the PGBS 560 Career Seminar course at the start of the fall semester. Strap on your boots, and let's get to work!

Summer Prep Webinar Part 2: Preparing for Your Academic Program

Thursday, July 25, 2024, 5 - 6 PM (PT)

Location: Virtual - A calendar invitation and Zoom link will be emailed to you before the event.

Part two of the new student webinar series occurs after course registration for the first term in the program. Your academic advisor will share the academic tools you will access in the context of how to utilize them upon being enrolled in the program, along with outlining academic standards and requirements. For students unable to attend the live session, a recording will be posted to this webpage after the webinar.

New Student Orientation 

Monday, August 12, 2024, 5 - 6:30 PM (PT) 

Location: Virtual - A calendar invitation and Zoom link will be emailed to you prior to the event.

This is a required orientation that all students must attend. 

The New Student Orientation is an opportunity to learn about career engagement and study abroad opportunities, understand the next steps to begin your program, and spend dedicated time with your faculty members, who will discuss what to expect and how to make the most of your program. 

Graziadio Open House

Date and Time to be Announced - Open House will Occur the Week of Monday, August 19 - Friday, August 23, 2024

Location: Graziadio Business School, Drescher Graduate Campus, Malibu

The Graziadio Open House is your first welcome to the beautiful Malibu campus! During the event, you can get to know the campus, meet students and staff, enjoy afternoon refreshments, and complete your remaining on-campus requirements all in one place:

  • Check-in for your BSCI 650 Workshop
  • Pick up your student ID
  • Receive your welcome gift
  • Take a campus tour
  • Visit campus departments and meet our student service staff
  • Meet with Student Financial Services
  • Confirm your Student Health Center requirements
  • International students can complete their Mandatory Arrival Report on-site 

Please note that the Graziadio Open House will take place before the start of your BSCI 650 Workshop, so you can come to campus early to enjoy the event before the start of your workshop at 3 PM.

BSCI 650: Personal and Leadership Development Workshop

Full-Time MBA Strategy Fundamentals and Emerging Leaders Collaborative

Thursday, August 22, 9 AM - 4 PM (PT) (time subject to change)

Location: Drescher Graduate Campus, Malibu 

Business strategies are developed by understanding the intersection of different business functions and how they come together to drive success. This session will provide foundational knowledge by our faculty and a team simulation where you will run a business. 

Following the simulation, the Emerging Leaders Collaborative made of a group of second-year MBA students will join the conversation to provide perspectives on student life and provide the foundation for your MBA network at Graziadio. 

Required for all incoming Full-Time MBA students. Lunch will be provided.

New Student Orientation
