Challenge 4 Charity
Brandon Calvillo is a full-time MBA candidate who earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Finance at Sonoma State University in 2009. After graduating with honors, Brandon has worked in various industries. He most recently left Industrial Automation & Controls to pursue his MBA and SEER certificate at Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. He is President of Challenge for Charity (C4C), member of Emerging Leaders, and involved in our school's Net Impact Chapter. Brandon is a father of two and enjoys the outdoors, travel, education, technology, and health & wellness.
Neil is a 20-Month MBA Candidate at Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business Management and is the Vice-President for C4C. He completed his undergrad in 2014, from Vellore Institute of Technology, India, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked in sales for surgical instruments, sales for an engineering firm and he has developed an intravenous fluid warming device for use in operation theatres during surgeries. He has worked with a NGO in his hometown of Ahmedabad, India for the upliftment of underprivileged slum kids. He has also participated in a volunteering program for a NGO in Northern India, wherein he helped to build a greenhouse for villagers in the most secluded portions of India.
Director of Marketing
JD Generoso is a 15-month MBA student at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management. He received his undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. Upon graduation from Stony Brook, he has worked at several advertising agencies in New York specializing in media buying and planning for traditional and digital mediums. Outside of advertising, he was actively involved with several Philippine-based non-profits, providing marketing insights and mission awareness campaigns for the Pilipino community in the New York tri-state area. In addition to serving as Director of Marketing for C4C, JD is also the President of Asian Business Club. Post Pepperdine, JD plans to pursue opportunities in media and marketing, specifically in the entertainment vertical. He hopes to one day establish a multi-media agency specializing in ethnic marketing for communities underrepresented in traditional media campaigns in North America.
Mengchen is a 20-Month MBA Candidate at Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business Management and is the Marketing Manager for C4C. She graduated from Inner Mongolia Finance & Economic College in China with the major of finance. After graduation, she worked in Bank of China for 4 years as a loan officer in the department of Private Finance. She is keen to make contributions to charity, and she hopes to involve more students in C4C to enjoy the calmness and happiness that charity brings to us.
Zoe Xiaomeng Shu
Director of Finance
Zoe Xiaomeng Shu is a current student of Master of Science in Applied Finance at the Graziadio School of Business and Management, concentrating in investment. Zoe completed her bachelor degree at University of Iowa, majoring in Finance. While in Iowa, Zoe completed her certificate in Risk Management and Insurance. Her knowledge in finance has greatly empowered her to always approach any issue or problem systematically and in an organized manner. In addition to serving as Director of Finance for C4C, Zoe is also the VP of Operations of Asian Business Club. Prier Pepperdine, she had internship experience in Northwestern Mutual in New York City, NY. She also worked full-time as Assistant to CFO in a startup commercial real estate company named TeamRise International, Inc. at Pasadena. Upon graduation, Zoe hopes to pursue a position in Investment Banking or Venture Capital. She loves to travel, hang out on the beach, meet new people, photography and dance.
Laurie Qinwen Zhang
Qinwen Zhang is a full-time Master of Science in Accounting student at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree. Before attending Pepperdine, she had several accounting internships in marketing and IT industry. In addition, Qinwen also participated in a lot of volunteer programs, such as the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and International Ambassador program. After graduation she plans to work for public accounting firm.
Director of Operations
Eyal is a 2nd year 20-Month MBA Candidate at Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business Management and is the Director of Operations for C4C. He graduated IDC law and business school in Herzliya, Israel, in 2007, and worked since then as a lawyer and project manager in one of the biggest construction companies in Israel. Eyal is also a professional photographer, specialized in extreme sports and nature photography. In addition to his role as the director of operations for Challenge for Charity, he is also the official photographer of the club. In his downtime, he enjoys what California has to offer, including surfing, snowboarding and backpacking.
Oscar Zizhou Xing
Oscar is currently a full-time MSAF student at Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management. He graduated from Wuhan University with a bachelor degree of Insurance. He had several internships in his spare time, like Chinese Everbright Bank and China Life Insurance Co, Limited. Oscar is also a huge sports fan. Back in undergraduate, he was captain of both basketball team and flag football team and he was a lead player in Wuhan Griffins, an American pro football team in Wuhan.
Manuel is a full-time MBA student at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management and is also pursuing a certificate in Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible (SEER) business. He is an International Student from Paraguay. Manuel received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Americana in Asunción, Paraguay and his Professional Business Management Certificate with concentration in Advance Finance studies from the University of California - San Diego (UCSD). At Pepperdine, Manuel is serving in multiple leadership positions. Furthermore, Manuel has more than six years of volunteer experience working with nonprofits in Paraguay, where he has led many activities, one of them as the coordinator for the First National Fundraising of TECHO Paraguay. With over six years of professional full-time experience in Paraguay's financial services sector, two years ago Manuel joined his father in starting a new livestock company, focused on meat and leather production for domestic and international markets.
Pei Yang is a full-time 12-month Master of Science Human Resources student at Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She graduated from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a bachelor's degree of Psychology in May, 2016. When she were undergraduate, she joined and took leadership positions in several student groups, including Rotaract Club. She likes working with people and plan to work on Human Resources or related fields after graduation.
Yinger Zhou is a full-time MSHR candidate at Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She earned her Bachelor of Art in Global Studies, and a minor in Education Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara. She actively participates in volunteer work when she was in undergraduate school. She is also a member in Graziadio Student Ambassadors. Upon graduation, Yinger plans to pursue a job in HR field. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Carrie Hodge is a full-time MSHR student at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. As well as being a Volunteer Manager in Challenge for Charity, she is also a member of Graziadio Student Ambassadors. She has had internships in human resources and has experience in retail. After graduation, she plans to build a career in human resources, particularly in staffing/recruiting or compensation. Her interests/hobbies include dancing, writing fiction, trying new foods, and spending time with family and friends.
Co-Director of Community Involvement
Ashley Lewis is a full-time Master of Science in Human Resource candidate. She graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. She has several years of experience in nonprofit; specifically, social services at The Samaritan Inn. As a caseworker, she assisted people with financial management, career services and permanent housing. While at The Samaritan Inn, she enjoyed participating in fundraising events, community engagements and outreach. In addition to her role as Co-Director of Community Involvement for Challenge for Charity, she is also a member of Graziadio Student Ambassadors. In her downtime, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends and family.
Naqiyah Khuzema Sohagpurwalla

Naqiyah Khuzema Sohagpurwalla is a full-time Masters of Science in Human Resources student at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She is an international student from Mumbai, India and has earned a Masters in Industrial Psychology from Mumbai University in 2015. Currently, at Pepperdine she is the Project Manager for Net Impact, Co-Director of Community Involvement for Challenge 4 Charity and a Senator for Student Government. Her past work experience involves working for a start up as an HR Executive and a Counsellor and Trainer with a Non Profit Organisation. She enjoys canvas painting, trying new cuisines, meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
Community Involvement Manager
Charchil is a 20-Month MBA Candidate at Pepperdine University's GSBM. Charchil did his Bachelors in Commerce from Ahmedabad University and Masters in Commerce from Gujarat University, both are based in India. Charchil was also pursuing the Indian CPA since his undergrad college and has cleared all levels except the last group at Final level. Since 2011 to 2015 Charchil worked at an Indian CPA firm called Shah and Shah Associates, in the field of Auditing, Management Advisory and Assurance. From 2015, for 1.5 years worked at a Real-Estate Company managing its finance dept. Since June 2016, Charchil got the opportunity to work with Govt. of India, for research on flow of public money in India. Charchil has also been a core member of a social service group named "Infinity" in India. At C4C, Charchil shall be working as the Community Involvement Specialist. In future Charchil looks forward to work in the field of Management Consultancy and Real Estate. In free time, apart from meeting new people, he also loves to travel and read new interesting subjects.
Imogen Qiuyi Hu
Community Involvement Manager
Qiuyi Hu is a full-time MSHR student at Graziadio School of business and Management in Pepperdine University. She graduated from China Three Gorges University with a bachelor of management degree in 2016. Prior to Pepperdine University, Qiuyi have some interns in Human Resource management and she plans on working in human resource management after graduation. She is interested in badminton, travel and making friends.
Director of Fundraising
Aditya is a 15-Month MS in Global Business Candidate at Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business and Management and is the Director of Fundraising for C4C. He completed his undergrad in 2013, from University of Mumbai (H. R College of commerce and Economics), India, majoring in marketing. He has worked for an IT distributor and a personal hygiene product manufacturer for the past 3 years. In his undergrad, Aditya worked for SIFE (Student In Free Enterprise) where he provided solar lights to villages/houses who have never seen light across India. He provided light to over a 1000 houses impacting over 50,000 people within a month. He also was the founders of Chirag Light India Movement which brought together 100s of students across multiple cities.
Jay Munroe is a 15 month Full Time MBA candidate with a BBA in Legal Studies in Business from Hofstra University in 2009. After attending New York Law School for one year, Jay became a Pricing Analyst and worked in that capacity for 3 years before deciding to attend Pepperdine University. Along with C4C, Jay is also a member of the Finance Club. In his spare time, Jay loves to travel and explore the unique environment and culture that makes up Southern California.
