When do I sign up for housing for the 2017-2018 academic year?
Monday, February 20 - Current students may enter the housing portal to sign the 2017-2018 housing application.
Check your Pepperdine email account regularly for information and deadlines.
New incoming students will not yet have access to this portal as their housing process will take place over the summer.
How does the lottery work?
Friday, March 17, 8 AM PDT - Priority deadline for lottery number assignment
Monday, March 20 - Rising sophomore lottery numbers and time slots released
Monday, March 27 - Rising upperclassman lottery numbers and time slots released
Students will select rooms based on the order of their lottery numbers.
In order to receive a priority lottery number, the following requirements must be met by 8 AM on Friday, March 17:
- Enroll in Fall 2017 classes
- Complete a housing application
Priority lottery numbers will be given to:
- Sophomores linked in groups of four
- Juniors and seniors linked in groups of four
However, all students who are enrolled in classes and have completed a housing application will be assigned a lottery number, regardless of whether they link with other students.
After priority numbers have been processed, any remaining contracts submitted after the priority deadline will be assigned lottery numbers.
When and how do I select my room?
Wednesday, March 22, 8AM PDT – Housing Selection 2017-2018 for rising sophomores begins
Wednesday, March 29, 8AM PDT – Housing Selection 2017-2018 for rising juniors/seniors begins
The housing selection process can be completed online. For those who prefer to connect with us in person, the HRL team will be available during the selection mornings to assist with the process and answer questions in the Howard A. White Center.
What happens if all junior and senior spaces are full before it's my turn to select a space?
For those who do not secure housing on selection day, we are preparing a wait list as well as a list of off-campus housing options as a resource for juniors and seniors. Please note that linked groups may not select apartments or rooms without availability to accommodate the entire group. Unlinking is not possible after linking closes on Friday, March 17. Campus housing is not guaranteed for all four years and space will be limited for our juniors and seniors. After selection, those who were unable to select may place themselves on a wait list as an individual and/or request resources for off-campus options.
How does my DSO accommodation impact housing selection?
All current students with approved housing accommodations must renew and update their accommodations through the Office of Student Accessibility annually.
March 1, 2017 - Deadline to complete registration with the DSO or renew existing accommodations.
- Sophomores are guaranteed campus housing, and those with housing accommodations will participate in the lottery to select their spaces.
- Juniors and seniors also participate in a lottery process to determine who will live on campus. This includes students with approved housing accommodations.
If an upperclassman with an approved housing accommodation secures a space on campus through the lottery, HRL and DSO will then work with the student to address the accommodation specifics based on availability.
How will construction impact housing selection?
All campus housing will be especially tight for the upcoming year. Lovernich will be available to sophomores first in order to ensure that all freshmen and sophomores can live on campus for the 2017-2018 academic year, per the university residency requirement.
We recognize that these are spaces that have previously been held by juniors and seniors. Construction on Seaside Residence Hall will be open to students for the Fall 2018 semester.
How do I select a meal plan?
Meal plan requirements correspond with living areas, so you will not be able to select a meal plan until you are officially placed in housing.
