How to Prevent Display Issues

In order to prevent display issues within WaveNet, it is strongly recommended that individuals clear your browser cache and add WaveNet as a trusted site to your browser software. Please see instructions below:

Internet Explorer

How to Delete Browsing History:
Note to Internet Explorer users: If you experience display issues after you have cleared your browsing history, please proceed to the instructions on How to setup Trusted Sites.

  1. Open Internet Explorer web browser.
  2. Select Tools. (If you do not see Tools in Menu Bar, click the 'Alt' key.)
  3. Choose Internet Options.
  4. On the General tab, under the section called Browsing History, check the box for Delete Browsing History on exit.
  5. Click Delete under the Browsing history sectionInternet Options.
  6. Uncheck the box for Preserve Favorites website data.
  7. Check the boxes for Temporary Internet files and Cookies. The rest is optional
  8. Click Delete.

  9. Click OK on the Internet Options window.
  10. When the Internet Options window has disappeared, exit/close all Internet Explorer tabs and windows in order to fully close out of the program.

How to set up Trusted Sites:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Choose Internet Options.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Select Trusted Sites.
  6. Click the Sites button.
  7. Under the Add this web site to the zone text box, enter https://hcm.pepperdine.edu.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Under the Add this web site to the zone text box, enter https://wavenet.pepperdine.edu.
  10. Click Add.
  11. Click Close.
  12. Click OK on the Internet Options windowInternet Options sites add .

Mozilla Firefox

How to Clear Recent History:

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox web browser window.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Select Clear Recent History.
  4. Click on the icon next to "Time range to clear:" and select Everything.
  5. Display Details by clicking the "v" icon to get it to point up "^".
  6. Make sure Cookies, Cache, and Active Logins are checked.
    Note: "Browsing & Download History" and "Form & Search History" are optional and can be checked if you want, unless you want to keep that history.
  7. Click the Clear Now button.clear now button
  8. Close all Firefox browser tabs and windows.
  9. Reopen Firefox.

How to set up Trusted Sites:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Choose Options.
  4. Click the Privacy tab.
  5. Under History, click the Exceptions button.
  6. Type in the URL hcm.pepperdine.edu.
  7. Click the Allow button.
  8. Type the URL wavenet.pepperdine.edu.
  9. Click the Allow button.
  10. Click Close.
  11. On the Options window, click OK mozilla trusted sites.

Apple Safari

How to Delete Browsing History:

  1. In the Safari menu (while Safari has the main window focus), select the Safari menu item.
  2. Select Empty Cache from the list.

  3. When asked to confirm to empty the cache, select the Empty button.

How to set up Popup Blocker:

  1. In the Safari menu (while Safari has the main window focus), select the Safari menu item.
  2. Uncheck the menu item next to Block Pop-Up Windows.
