Student Bar Association Annual Activities

SBA Sponsored Activities

The SBA sponsors several activities and events throughout the year. Below are the activities and their respective dates.

  • Barrister's Ball
  • Halloween Costume Contest
  • Dean's Forum/SBA Town Hall Meeting
  • Dodgeball
  • Law School Dinner

Barrister's Ball

Barrister's Ball is the premier social event of the Fall semester. This school-wide event is open to all Pepperdine Law Students, faculty, alumni, and other members of the legal community. Barrister's Ball is typically held at an exclusive hotel and/or ballroom in Santa Monica or Beverly Hills. Formal attire is recommended. This event combines elegance, excitement, and hours of entertainment for all who attend. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event.

Halloween Costume Contest

Each Halloween, SBA sponsors a costume contest at lunch in the atrium.  Dress up to win awesome prizes!

Dean's Forum/SBA Town Hall Meeting

Each semester the administration will host a Dean's Forum to communicate directly with students about the current state of the law school.  After the faculty and administration have left the room, SBA will continue in the same manner to receive feedback from students so that we can communicate that back to the administration and better serve our student body.

Dodgeball

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and DODGE!  Every Spring semester, SBA puts on a Dodgeball tournament for all students in the "Pepperdome": a huge dodgeball arena right in the middle of the atrium.  Come out to show your athletic skills, or simply dress your team up in the best costumes to win prizes.  Sign your team up in the atrium in the weeks before the tournament.

Law School Dinner

The Annual Law School Dinner is the most highly anticipated event of the year. Attending this event are faculty, administration, alumni, members of the legal community, and students. Distinguished speakers have included Supreme Court Justices and Counsel to the President of the United States. A reception is followed with dinner. Professor of the Year and Moot Court awards are presented thereafter. Law students can purchase tickets to the Dinner at a discounted price.

In addition, SBA provides funding and support to all of our Student Organizations on campus, and we encourage you to participate in those events as well!
