What Movies Teach about Race: Exceptionalism, Erasure, and Entitlement by Professor Roslyn M. Satchel (Communication Division) "uncovers the socially-shared cognitive structures that the movie industry passes down from one generation to another." She will present her research at Seaver's Graduate Research Collegium on Feb. 22 and will also speak about her findings on April 5th at a convocation sponsored by the Center for Faith & Learning. Additionally, the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics will feature her book at its International Conference in Dallas, TX, February 23-26.
Professor Jane Mi (Fine Arts Division) was one of thirty artists selected to participate in "Middle of Now | Here," the inaugural Honolulu Biennial, a contemporary visual arts festival which will run from March 8 through May 8 in the capital of Hawaii. Jane will be exhibiting her work along with other artists who come from countries and cultures connected by the Pacific Ocean.
