New Student Orientation Application


There are four steps to follow when applying for Orientation Coordinator or Orientation Leader.

  1. Fill out an online application
  2. Obtain a faculty/staff recommendation
  3. Sign up for an interview time at the HAWC front desk. Applicants for both OL and OC positions must bring a resume and your "A" game with them to their interview. If your are overseas, a supplemental set of questions will be sent to you once the application process is complete.
  4. Read the First Year Seminar Mentor Information, and check the box indicating your interest in the program on your application if you would like to be a Mentor in the fall.

New Student Orientation Coordinator (Approximately 8 positions)

Application due: Monday, March 20, 2017

New Student Orientation (NSO) Coordinators provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the Orientation Leaders as they prepare them to serve the incoming students during orientation in August. Coordinators are responsible for elements of orientation planning and implementation, OL training, and information sessions. This position requires dedication, a servant heart and a commitment to Pepperdine's Christian mission. Students must have served as an Orientation Leader in order to be eligible to apply for the position of Coordinator and must be available for training prior to NSO. OC's return to campus Sunday, August 13, 4 p.m.

New Student Orientation Leader (Approximately 100 positions)

Application due: Monday, March 27, 2017

New Student Orientation (NSO) Leaders provide assistance to incoming students while supporting Pepperdine's Christian mission. NSO Leaders provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to their incoming peers and their families during orientation in August. Leaders help students with move in, assist with informational sessions, participate in new student activities and are available to answer general questions. NSO Leaders must attend training sessions prior to NSO and are required to serve through the duration of NSO.  OL's return to campus Thursday, August 17, 4 p.m.
