Meet the New Chief Information Officer Jonathan See
Effective January 2012 Provost Tippens announced that Jonathan See, currently serving as Pepperdine's interim chief information officer, has been named to the position of chief information officer.
Jonathan first came to Pepperdine in 2005 as the director of Information Technology Administration and was later promoted to senior director and eventually deputy chief information officer. In September 2011, Jonathan was asked by Provost Tippens to serve as interim chief information officer.
Jonathan has worked in higher education since 1989, including three years as the head of administration for the Getty Research Institute and 14 years in administration at California State University, Los Angeles.
Jonathan has an integrative vision for Information Technology (IT) based on the philosophy that technology is critical to the researching, teaching, and learning process. Jonathan not only works closely with the central IT staff, but also Pepperdine's faculty and students.
According to Provost Tippens, "Jonathan is exceptionally well suited to provide the leadership and support needed to further the educational use of technology at Pepperdine University. He has already distinguished himself during his first six years with us. We are delighted to see him in this new role."
