University Faculty Council

Dr. June Schmieder-Ramirez, Chair

The University Faculty Council (UFC) was formed in 2001 by a charter signed by all five schools of Pepperdine University. The purpose of the UFC is to provide a vehicle for collegial discussion and decision-making between Pepperdine University administration and the faculty. Each school has at least one representative on the UFC.

Discussions have been held regarding ethics, the Fall faculty conference and other important issues. The current Chair is Dr. Mark Scarberry of the School of Law. The new UFC Charter was voted by all five schools to extend to September 2010 and indicates confidence in the effectiveness of this body.

Provost Rick Marrs and Associate Provost Jay Brewster also work closely with the UFC, as does President Andrew Benton.

Any questions or issues that you wish to forward to the UFC please call or e-mail Dr. Mark Scarberry.
