Create your ePortfolio

Once logged in, you will come to your homepage which lists everything you have on Digication - ePortfolios, Courses, and Communities.

To create a new ePortfolio, under "My e-Portfolios" click the "Create" button.

Digication ePortfolio Dashboard

Clicking the Create button opens the Portfolio Settings page, on which you provide basic information about your ePortfolio. The fields Title of your e-Portfolio and e-Portfolio Web Address are required. The other options enable you to customize information about your portfolio. You can return to this page to edit these fields at any time by clicking the 'Portfolio Settings' tab.

Title and Web Address
In the Title and Web Address area, you identify the name and location of your e-Portfolio.

Digication Create Title

  1. Enter the title of your ePortfolio (for example, Jane Doe's ePortfolio).
  2. Complete the ePortfolio web address by adding a simple title in the blank field, containing letters and numbers with no blank spaces (for example, janedoeseportfolio).

Choose a Theme

Within the theme you can customize the Directory Icon (a small image that displays next to your listing in the ePortfolio directory), the Header image (an image that displays at the top of every page of the ePortfolio), and the ePortfolio CSS (for more advanced users, the CSS editor gives you the ability to change background color, text colors, sizing, and fonts in your ePortfolio) and the ePortfolio footer (a small text area that displays at the bottom of each page of your ePortfolio).

To create an ePortfolio using a custom theme click the 'Customize' button.

  • Viewer: Can only view your ePortfolio and can not edit it.
  • Editor: Can edit but not publish your ePortfolio
  • Publisher: Can edit and publish your ePortfolio
  • Admin: Can edit ePortfolio settings (including adding and removing users) and edit and publish your ePortfolio

Tagging

Tags are keywords that you or others who have access to your ePortfolio can assign to the ePortfolio pages. Tags make it easier to find individual pages of the portfolio in searches. You can turn tagging on or off at any time.
