In addition to van rental services, a number of other transit services are available on campus during the regular school year. University faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to utilize these free services: See Shuttle Schedule for Orange & Blue Line's.

Special Events

We offer service for many different events to include: graduations, camps, field trips, conferences, and Smothers Theatre performances.

A centralized pool of drivers has been formed by the Department of Transit Services. These drivers have obtained a commercial (Class B) drivers license. In order to take a Transit Services vehicle off campus, the driver must have a valid Class B license and pass a D.O.T. drug testing. When reserving a vehicle, departments will have the option of providing their own class B licensed driver or hiring a driver from our department. An additional rate will be charged if Transit Services provides the driver.

The Department of Transit Services has a fleet which consists of, (7) 8-passenger vans, (1) wheelchair lift-equipped van, (2) cargo vans, and (8) shuttle buses ranging in capacity from 24 to 30 persons. Two of these buses is wheelchair equipped. There are also another (4) 8 passenger vans available during summer months with prior approval from Pepperdine Volunteer Center and Jumpstart Programs.

These vehicles undergo periodic preventive maintenance inspections and service in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. A detailed operating and maintenance record is kept for each vehicle to meet safety requirements.

Transit Service vehicles are now parked in the lower level of the Terrace Parking lot. The Business Services office is located on the FM&P pad.

Special Needs Van

Transit Services' handicap van is an extended height van which has been equipped with a wheelchair lift and wheelchair tie downs. The lift is mounted on the back of the vehicle, leaving the front of the van available for regular seating. The vehicle has standard seating for 8 passengers, plus one wheelchair.

Individuals who need special assistance should contact Transit Services at extension 4802.
