Women's Soccer Club
The Pepperdine Women's Club Soccer Team provides the opportunity for students to not only engage in a team environment and form relationships but also succeed as athletes and represent Pepperdine. We compete in the West Coast Soccer Association (WCSA). Although the 2016-2017 academic year was our first year as an established team on campus, we have already competed against schools such as UCLA, USC, Fresno, and UC Santa Barbara. Our team requires commitment for the full academic year. The season begins with tryouts in early October and continues with practices and scrimmages during first semester. The WCSA league's season begins in the spring, includes a tournament hosted by a different university each year, and culminates in a regional championship.
While we do not require an excessive time commitment during the school week, we value the dedication of our members and believe that our team will excel through hard-work and training together. Throughout the year, members must attend one mandatory practice a week. Additionally, two other optional practices as well as speed and agility training will be offered. We encourage our members to attend as many practices as possible so that they can improve individually and grow closer as a team. Because we know that a cohesive team is important to our overall success, these practice times will be determined by student availability after the formation of the team to ensure the maximum amount of member participation. Furthermore, club fees will also be determined at the beginning of each season based on the final roster.
Eligibility requirements to participate in club sports at Pepperdine consist of at least a 2.0 GPA and enrollment in a minimum 12 units at Pepperdine.
