What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is an international fitness phenomenon that has helped thousands of people reach their fitness goals, find community, and develop a love for exercising. 

All workouts are scaleable so that beginners and those with years of experience can participate in the same class. In CrossFit classes, members complete a WOD (Workout of the Day) that consists of constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity in a communal environment. CrossFit WODs aim to help you improve in the 10 domains of fitness:

1. cardiovascular/respiratory endurance      5. power      8. balance  
2. stamina 6. speed 9. coordination
3. strength 7. agility 10. accuracy
4. flexibility

What makes Pepperdine CrossFit Unique?

CrossFit is so effective partially due to the camaraderie that is developed amongst the members, which makes working out more fun and provides greater encouragment and accountability to help them achieve their fitness goals. At Pepperdine CrossFit, class sizes are kept small, are only available to Pepperdine students, employees, and dependents, and are taught by CrossFit Level 1 trainers who are all either Pepperdine students or employees. We will occasionally hold fun events such as a free Saturday beach workout, a CrossFit Games watching party, themed workouts, or a "Squats & Brats" BBQ.

All classes are located in Campus Recreation's semi outdoor fitness facility The Cage, which is located under the white canopy roofs on the east end of the upper tennis courts.
