Veritas

Mission Statement

Veritas forums are university events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life's hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life. We seek to inspire the shapers of tomorrow's culture to connect their hardest questions with the person and story of Jesus Christ. At Pepperdine we aim to host an annual two-night event worth convocation credit, where food will be provided and speakers will address topics under a common theme.

Purpose

Our vision is to continually bring in more students and questions through relevant speakers and topics. We also hope that Veritas will foster growth over time through club convocation series and follow up activities.

History

The Veritas Forum came to Pepperdine in 2009 with speakers Os Guiness and Cliff Knechtle. The second annual forum was held on October 5, 2010 with featured speaker Mary Poplin.

Meeting Times

Bi-weekly meetings will be held at night in Appleby Center leading up to the month before the Forum; Then weekly meetings at the same time a month leading up to the Forum.

Leadership

All active committee members determine leadership with propositions coming from Committee Chair and Associate Chaplain towards the end of the year or summer.
