Enhanced Recreation Area
We are pleased to share with the community that work on the first phase of the Marie Canyon debris basin project, part of the Campus Life Project, will commence the week of September 5th.
The general contractor will mobilize a construction trailer and set up a staging area in the the Marie Canyon debris basin area starting on Tuesday, September 6th, in the area highlighted below. Additionally fencing around the boundaries of the construction area will be installed, and then grading work will begin.
Early deliveries of equipment to the project will begin tomorrow, Thursday September 1st. Work to clear the site of brush and trees will also begin this week.
Throughout the duration of the first phase of work this fall, grading and movement of soils, and trenching and the installation of new underground utilities will take place.
Construction will typically take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am and 7pm, and occasionally on Saturday's as needed between 8am and 6pm. In an effort to minimize disruption, grading activities will be limited to Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. We anticipate that the work planned for this Fall will be completed in November.
We welcome any questions and look forward to ongoing collaboration with you and the University community as construction activity on campus builds and continues through 2018.
