Construction on the Payson library project is proceeding well with the project remaining on track for completion ahead of the Fall 2017 semester. We are currently preparing for work at Payson Library on Friday, March 24th and Saturday, March 25th that will necessitate a greater than usual safety perimeter around the site.
On Friday, March 24th starting at 8:00 am two forty foot trailers will deliver materials to the contractor's staging area. At 11:45 am temporary barricades will be placed in the Seaver main lot in the area highlighted in blue to accommodate three additional forty foot trailers that will enter through the gate. These deliveries are expected to be complete at 6:00 pm. DPS will escort these vehicles but some congestion is expected.
On Saturday, March 25th between the hours of 6:00 am and 3:00 pm, all access will be restricted in the areas shown below to construction personnel only.
Again on Saturday, between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:00 pm, Banowsky Boulevard will be closed intermittently for up to 15 minutes at a time as highlighted in yellow below. Flagmen will direct traffic during these interruptions.
Finally, on Saturday between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:00 pm, the following buildings will be closed as highlighted above: Thornton Administrative Center, Pendleton Computer Center, Beverly Stauffer Chapel, Black Family Plaza Classrooms, Elkins Auditorium, and Payson Library.
All other buildings will remain open, although you will need to access them from their entry points along Campus Walk as some of their plaza entrances will be closed as highlighted above.
We will be providing periodic updates on our progress, as well as additional information regarding specific impacts, throughout the course of the project. We appreciate your interest and patience, welcome your questions, and look forward to ongoing collaboration with the community as the increased level of construction activity continues.
