At times we feel like we are barely holding on, doing our best just to survive. But what if we could learn to thrive in the midst of transitions and challenges? The Stress Less group is a one-time workshop that will focus on building a healthy foundation to stand strong and ready for whatever life throws at you. We will explore various physical, mental, emotional, relational, personal, and spiritual practices that will help you move towad deeper experiences of joy, confidence, and fulfillment in your life.
Real Men Real Talk
Tuesdays @ 3pm, TCC 270, led by Jeff Williams
Real Men, Real Talk is a group of men supporting one another as we wrestle with some of the challenges and pitfalls of emerging manhood. It is a place where you will discuss how to deal with stress, anger, addictive behaviors and relationship challenges. This group will provide a safe space for authentic and non-judgmental discussion as well as finding methods to learn healthier patterns of living.
Group for Women
Mondays @ 2 pm, TCC 270, led by Jane Tsang
Women provide empathy, support, and feedback as they share their concerns. Topics vary but frequently include relationship concerns, family issues, stress, and the need for self-care.
Wednesdays @ 1, TCC 270, led by Jeff Williams & Shelle Welty
Want to improve your relationships? This group will give you the tools you need to build and maintain healthy boundaries with the important people in your life. Learn to navigate conflict and closeness with integrity.
Tuesdays @ 6pm, TCC 250, led by Shelle Welty
Learn how to reduce your stress, regulate your mood, improve your concentration, and enhance your mental and physical health through mindfulness. Group sessions will include practice and education in developing a regular meditation practice. Attendance at six sessions gets you a nice yoga mat!
Wednesdays @ 4 pm, TCC 270, led by Shelle Welty
Do you ever feel trapped by the constant presence of anxiety and depression in your life? This group will give you practical strategies for improving the way you manage anxiety and depression. In addition to learning strategies, you will practice them in group and reflect with other group members on ways to change your lifestyle in pursuit of peace.
Recovery from Alcohol and Drug Addiction
Thursdays @ 6 pm, TCC 260, led by Sparkle Greenhaw
This group is open to Pepperdine students in recovery from alcohol and/or other addiction, and for students seeking support for substance abuse and related problems. This group will provide a place for students to support each other and build community.
Eating Disorders Support Group
Facilitated by Shelle Welty
Recovery is tough. It is good to have support during the process. This group provides peer support for those working toward or sustaining recovery from an eating disorder. If interested, please contact Shelle Welty at email@example.com for a brief meeting prior to group attendance.
