What courses can a FEMBA student waive?
A student can waive up to 3 courses. BSCI 650/651 and STGY 659/670C may not be waived. Waiver is based upon equivalent graduate-level courses taken an AACSB and regionally accredited university taken within the last 5 years with a B or better.
What is the process for a FEMBA student to request a course waiver?
The student must submit a request from their Pepperdine email to their program advisor. They will need to attach the course name/title, description and syllabus. The course waiver request must be completed and approved by the department chair by the end of the first trimester.
How does a student qualify for Fast-Track FEMBA?
Qualification of admittance into the Fast-Track MBA is determined at the time of admissions. If a student is admitted as a Fast-Track FEMBA student, it will be noted on their admit letter. To qualify, students with an undergraduate major in business from an AACSB-accredited university must have:
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 or better in their business major coursework
- Minimum GMAT of 600
- Minimum 2 years work experience
Students who are granted a GMAT waiver are not eligible for the Fast-Track FEMBA.
Can a student qualify for Fast-Track FEMBA if they waived the GMAT?
No – if the student meets all other qualifications listed above and receives the GMAT waiver, they will need to take the GMAT and earn a minimum score of 600 prior to the start of the program to be considered for Fast-Track FEMBA.
How many units can a student waive in the Fast-Track FEMBA?
Students may waive up to 12 units of the FEMBA core classes expect the core class(es) associated with the concentration they intend to pursue. To qualify for the core course waiver, students must have earned a B+ or better in at least 6 units of comparable upper-division coursework at an AACSB-accredited university within the last 7 years. The course waiver request must be completed and approved by the department chair by the end of the first trimester.
Do I have to complete a global business requirement?
All students must complete a global business requirement. Each concentration has a different class that will fulfill the requirement. Please refer to the academic catalog to see which classes will fulfill the global business requirement for your concentration.
Does Pepperdine offer a major or minor?
Students are able select a concentration in the following areas:

What is an (E2B) Education to Business course?
An E2B course is designed to provide students with real-world experience in integrating and applying core curriculum concepts as they work directly with company executives to resolve a business issue real-time in the classroom. Under faculty supervision, the class working in teams will complete a strategic project for an assigned company secured by faculty. Teams will interact with company management as they analyze the company issue and/or opportunity, gather information, and develop recommendations for action.
Can I earn a second concentration or take additional classes once I graduate from the FEMBA Program?
Students may complete a second concentration through the MBA Plus Program. FEMBA graduates will receive a 75% discount on tuition for the first 4 units and a 25% discount on additional units taken per academic year. Classes are offered on a space available basis only.
