Pepperdine Human Resources Club
Shea is a Human Resources Master's candidate within Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She enjoys serving as president and founder of the inaugural Pepperdine Human Resources Club, as well as analyzing executive compensation as a graduate research assistant for an MSHR professor. Previously, Shea graduated from Pepperdine Seaver College as a magna cum laude major in Psychology, minor in Industrial Organizational Psychology, and certificate holder in Conflict Resolution from the Pepperdine Law School. Among her professional and academic roles as an undergraduate, Shea served as Professional Chair for Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, Pepperdine Professional Development Intern, Seaver Public Speaking Tutor, 49th Congressional District Intern, and HR Intern for Datron World Communications. She hopes to integrate these scholastic and professional experiences as a future human resources professional and servant leader. In her free time, Shea enjoys exploring the Greater LA area, as well as adventuring in her San Diego hometown with her Irish Wolfhound, Tess.
Osama is a current Pepperdine MSHR student from Chicago with extensive work experience in a variety of industries. Some of his skills include customer service, sales and marketing, and public speaking. Osama looks forward to pursuing a career in HR, and he is interested in Change Management and Management Consulting in particular. In addition to his studies and career interests, he also is in other clubs such as Net Impact and Challenge 4 Charity. Osama is passionate about sports, music and art. He fosters teamwork in the workplace and extracurricular activities via assertive and encouraging communication, and efficient talent management practices. Osama's favorites sports leagues are the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and FIFA.
VP of Global HR
Angi Ibrahim is the VP of Global HR. She studied Management and Psychology at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and proceeded to work in HR Consulting for one year, helping clients find the best talent globally. Passionate to learn and grow she moved to Microsoft Gulf as a Program Specialist for a good two years. Her desire to grow in Human Resources made her to move to the United States to earn a Master's in HR from an esteemed school like Pepperdine University. In her free time, Angi enjoys travelling around the world and learning about different cultures.
Ada Iriso Ivchenko
VP of Marketing
Ada Iriso Ivchenko is a first year full-time MSHR student at Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. Ada completed her undergraduate studies from The New School, Parsons School of Design with a BBA in Strategic Design and Management. Prior to her graduate studies, Ada held various positions in New York, in industries including Fashion Marketing, Event Management, and the Branding and Jewelry Business. Outside of school, Ada has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in various Eastern European countries. Upon completion of her MSHR degree, Ada plans on pursuing a career in international HR in the entertainment or fashion industries.
Ashley Lewis is a full-time Master of Science in Human Resource candidate. She graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. She has several years of experience in nonprofit; specifically, social services at The Samaritan Inn. As a caseworker, she assisted people with financial management, career services and permanent housing. While at The Samaritan Inn, she enjoyed participating in fundraising events, community engagements and outreach. In her downtime, she enjoys being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
VP of Professional Development
Maryam Pejmannia is a graduate student at Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business and Management. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin majoring in communication studies with a focus in corporate communications. After graduating she gained several years of HR work experience. Her passion is to help both individuals and their organizations become the best versions of themselves. This same passion has led Maryam to take the initiative and help establish the PHRC as a founding member. She is a high-energy team player with a healthy mix of both professional experience and educational knowledge. She is an extremely valuable piece to the professional development department of the PHRC. In her free time, she enjoys Pilates and being outdoors. She is also a dog lover and dog mom to a French Bulldog named Biscuit.
Lorena is a full-time MSHR student at Pepperdine University. She earned her BA in Psychology from California State University, Northridge with honors in May 2016. In addition to her role as Treasurer of the Pepperdine HR Club, she is also a Student Life Senator, VP of Partnerships for Graziadio Christian Business Society and Secretary for a non-profit children's organization called Born to be Loved. She currently works at Universal Studios Hollywood and plans on working in HR management within the entertainment industry upon graduation. She enjoys cooking, planning events, watching old movies, and wants to learn how to play the accordion.
Ye Tian (Derek)
VP of Public Relations
Derek Tian is a full-time Master of Science in Human Resource candidate at Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. He graduated from Northeastern University in China, with a major in Business Administration. As an undergraduate, Derek was fortunate to have several experiences at the world's top 500 enterprises , where he became knowledgeable in the operating mode of multinationals. Derek also served in student organizations as Minister of the Student Union and the School Volunteers Association. All these experiences helped him to master how to work with colleagues, and to establish his leadership style.
As a Pepperdine graduate student Derek is focusing on the marketing, Human Resources, and Professional Development sectors of organizations. He is a VP of Public Relations for the Human Resources Club and believes in "Helping others while also helping yourself."
VP of Public Relations
Pei Yang is a full-time Master of Science in Human Resource candidate at Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. She graduated in May 2016 from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. As an undergraduate student, Pei joined and took leadership positions in several student groups, including the Rotaract Club, ABESA, and CSSA.
As a graduate student at Pepperdine, Pei is a VP of Public Relations for the Human Resources Club and the VP of Marketing for the Graziadio Christian Business Society. Pei likes working with people and plan to work in Human Resources or related fields after graduation. She wants to be an HR consultant eventually. She enjoys cooking, traveling and yoga in her personal life.
