The Student Health Center (SHC) is staffed with Board Certified Physicians, a Nurse Practitioner, a Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurses, and Medical Assistants. We are here to serve your child's medical needs while they are attending school at Pepperdine. Our services include care for illness and injury, respiratory problems, women's and men's health, dermatology, immunizations, labs, in-house testing, nutrition, and massage therapy. In addition, the SHC offers specialized clinics such as flu vaccination, travel medicine, allergy, and STI/HIV testing. We are delighted your child has joined our community and look forward to serving them.
In compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), the Student Health Center regards all medically related information about the student as highly confidential and the student's consent is required before releasing any information to parents or other University staff or faculty. Please discuss with your student the information you would like to obtain; they can sign a consent form to release this information. The consent is valid for a limited time, so the student may need to update it at some time during their college career at Pepperdine.
The Student Health Center also requires that students make their own appointment to ensure confidentiality. If you have a concern and would like to have your student seen as soon as possible you certainly may call and notify us of your concern, but your student will still need to call to schedule a same day appointment for urgent matters.
