Welcome to Pepperdine Housing and Residence Life
We are excited to welcome you to the Pepperdine community!
The placement process for new students will work like this:
May 15 - Housing Portal Opens
The Housing Portal will go live on May 15. You must be fully prematriculated before you will be able to access the portal. If you see an error message, make sure you've submitted your intent to enroll deposit. This can take 24 to 48 hours to process before prematriculation is complete.
Once the portal has opened you'll complete an application for the 2017-2018 academic year. The portal is also where you'll answer lifestyle questions that will help you match with potential roommates. You can use the messaging system to contact other students and select a person to link with by June 15.
June 15 - Deadline for Contracts and Roommate Links
The deadline to link with rooommates is June 15 at 5PM. Students who submit their applications after the deadline may be assigned to a triple room due to space limitations.
July 15 - Placements Confirmed Via Email
You'll receive an email to your Pepperdine account with your placement as well as your roommate's name(s) on July 15.
Other Important Deadlines:
Requests to be considered for a residency exemption are due no later than June 1.
Requests for a housing accommodation through the Office of Student Accessibility require registering with that office no later than June 1. It is important to note that most accommodations can be met in our campus housing options and this approval is separate from academic accommodations.
Frequently Asked Questions:
We are available to answer your questions via email at email@example.com or by calling (310) 506-7586. You may also find answers to many of your questions right here on our website.
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions:
What's my network ID?
Your network ID is used to sign your contract and is the same as your Wavenet username, in all lowercase letters.
What if I've already picked out a roommate?
That's great! Just ask them what their screen name is (their first name followed by five digits) and search for them using the portal.
What if I don't have a roommate picked out?
That's fine! You'll be asked a series of questions about your lifestyle preferences and our software will recommend compatible roommates for you to choose from. You can message other students to ask whether they'd like to link up with you. You can also choose not to link up with anyone and we will place you according to your lifestyle preferences.
How do I indicate my preference for a triple room?
The portal does not offer the ability to link with more than one person at a time so students must request to be manually linked before the linking deadline. If you and two other students would like to share a triple room, please select your preference via the housing portal and have all three students email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request to live together.
Can I choose my suitemates or a specific residence hall?
No, unfortunately we cannot accommodate suitemate requests or requests to be placed in a certain hall. Everyone may choose one or two roommates, depending on whether they prefer a double or triple room.
What if I can't access the portal?
Please send an email to email@example.com with your name, CWID, and a description or screenshot of the error message you've received. We will respond to emails as quickly as possible in the order that they are received. You can also call us at 310-506-7586 during business hours.
How much does housing cost?
Please view our rates for our various living communities.
Do I have to live on campus?
Yes, all new students are required to live on campus per the University Residency Requirement.
What meal plan should I select?
You can view your options here.
**Note that first year students living in suite-style halls are required to purchase the Waves 1735 plan or higher.
