2024 Advent Service and Reception
Come together alongside colleagues in a time of hopeful anticipation as we enter the season of Advent. Human Resources and The Hub for Spiritual Life invite you to prepare your heart for the season through scripture readings, prayer, and singing. Together, we will open space in our hearts and lives to anticipate Emmanuel, God with us, and remind ourselves of the boundless love Christ offers. The service will be held in Stauffer Chapel starting at 9 AM. A reception located in the Seaver Boardroom on the Thornton Administrative Center 4th floor will follow the service.

Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration with Employee Benefits
Human Resources is excited to announce the seamless integration of Single Sign-On (SSO) with our Employee Benefits platform, available through WaveNet Employee Self-Service. This enhancement allows you to effortlessly access your Transamerica retirement savings account, as well as your Chard Snyder flexible spending and health savings accounts.
Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center Toy and Gift Card Donation Drive
Human Resources is partnering with the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center to collect new toys and gift cards for children and teens in South Los Angeles. The Wooten Center, founded by Myrtle Faye Rumph in memory of her son Al Wooten Jr., provides educational and enrichment programs for young adults, and has existing relationships with the Pepperdine community through Seaver College’s Business Administration Division, Foster Grandparent program, and is actively working with Pepperdine students to increase the effectiveness of their marketing efforts.

On-Campus Biometric Health Screenings
We are pleased to offer upcoming biometric screenings in collaboration with Aetna, Kaiser Permanente, and Quest Biometrics. These screenings provide Pepperdine faculty and staff with an opportunity to assess important health metrics, such as blood pressure, body mass index, and cholesterol levels which are crucial indicators for overall health.
Faculty and Staff Pickleball Clinic And Tournament
Join us for a Faculty and Staff Pickleball Clinic and Tournament, hosted in partnership with The Hub for Spiritual Life and Campus Recreation. Pickleball is an exciting way to move your body, engage in healthy competition, and build relationships with fellow colleagues.
Grief Support Groups
Pepperdine employees are invited to a series of four grief support group meetings facilitated by Elizabeth Topp, Ph.D., and CA licensed Clinical Psychologist. Grief groups are an effective method for dealing with grief and loss. This may include the loss of a loved one, emotional hardships, recurring frustrations, or being affected by major life events. Participants will be guided to understand the stages of grief and will learn healthy practices for navigating their experiences.
Pepperdine Honors and 2024 Presidential Awards for Missional Excellence
Join colleagues as we recognize the significant career milestones faculty and staff have celebrated this year. At the ceremony, President Gash will award one staff member and one faculty member the Presidential Award for Missional Excellence.
Emily Shane Foundation Fundraiser: Wings and Waves of Achievement
Pepperdine is pleased to host the Emily Shane Foundation for their fall fundraising event: Wings and Waves of Achievement. This event supports the Foundation's SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program, which empowers underserved students through mentorship and advocates for safety improvements on Pacific Coast Highway. At the fundraiser, ESF will feature a fun-filled day with food trucks, a petting zoo, live music, carnival games, face painting, and a special butterfly release, while supporting causes that provide necessary resources to students in need and saves lives on PCH.
