New Grant Supports Faculty Members' Use of Technology for Learning
February 22, 2008. A new internal grant program has been established at Pepperdine University to encourage and support faculty innovation in the field of technology and learning. The program is supported by Office of the President, the Provost, the Chief Information Officer, and the Deans of the Schools of Pepperdine University and is in direct support of Pepperdine University President Andrew Benton's goal to produce a formal strategy for the alignment of technology and learning as an important part of the five-year strategic plan. One important cornerstone of that strategy is to provide Pepperdine University faculty members with the resources that enable them to enhance teaching and learning with technology.
Multiple awards of no more than $10,000 each are expected to be awarded this year, with recipients notified no later than May 30, 2008. A total of $80,000.00 is available to faculty through this grant program for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Applications are due April 1, 2008 to the office of the CIO, and awards will be distributed in June 2009.
