Macintosh Operating System Release Notes
What you should know about macOS Catalina
On Monday, October 7, 2019, Apple released macOS 10.15 (Catalina). Pepperdine IT does NOT currently support Catalina on University-owned Mac computers. We request that you please wait until known issues are resolved before upgrading your existing Apple machine or purchasing new ones. Known Catalina issues include problems with:
- Whole disk encryption
- Some video conferencing products
- School of Law exam software
- Several other applications
Please remain on the latest version of macOS Mojave, 10.14, until software vendors resolve issues with Catalina. Any new operating system release experiences a number of incompatibilities with commonly used applications, and the new macOS is no exception.
You can check the current compatibility status of popular software on Catalina on roaringapps.com. Please contact your local technology support specialist or the IT Service Desk at 310.506.4357 with any questions you may have.
