Virus Support

E-Mail Attachments

Never open an e-mail attachment unless you know the sender and are expecting the message and the attachment.

Pepperdine's network virus protection software strips out virus attachments from e-mail messages before they enter your Outlook Inbox. The attachment remains with the message; but the attachment name is changed to indicate that a virus was detected and removed.

Pepperdine University provides support for very large, secure email attachments through https://attachments.pepperdine.edu. In addition to sending large attachments (up to 20 GB), this system also encrypts attachments when they are uploaded by the sender or downloaded by the recipient. For more information on this system, please visit this web page.
