Computer Requirements for Mulit-party Video Pilot

PLEASE NOTE: This technology is only available to select faculty and staff for testing. IT staff will notify you when this technology becomes available campus-wide.

This page contains a list of computer requirements that Mac and Windows users need to have to participate in the multi-party video test. Please note that most computers meet or exceed these requirements. Back to Cisco home page.

Apple Macintosh

  • Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4.11 to Snow Leopard 10.6.1
  • VPN: Anyconnect VPN (to be provided by Pepperdine IT)
  • Web conferencing: Adobe Flash Player 6.0.79 or higher
  • Sound Device: non-ISA full duplex sound card; PCI based
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM (minimum)
  • Disk Space: 200 MB free hard disk space
  • USB headsets: (preferred models are Logitech USB, GN Netcom 8110, Plantronics DSP 400, 510, 550, and Sony DA260 USB)
  • Video Cameras: (preferred models are Apple iSight, most Logitech models, and Ecamm iMage USB)
  • Connectivity - 384K for video with audio; 128K for audio only

Windows

  • Window XP Pro (service pack 2 or 3); Vista Bs. Ed, Vista Enterprise Ed, or Vista Ultimate; Windows Vista (service pack 1); Note: Windows 7 is not yet supported by the vendor, but has worked in some pilot testing.
  • VPN: Anyconnect VPN (to be provided by Pepperdine IT)
  • Web conferencing for XP: Adobe Flash Player 6.0.79 or higher
  • Web conferencing for Vista: Adobe Flash Player 9.0.28 or higher
  • Multimedia: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c
  • Sound Device: non-ISA full duplex sound card; PCI based
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM (minimum)
  • Disk Space: 200 MB free hard disk space
  • USB headsets: (preferred models are Logitech USB, GN Netcom 8110, Plantronics DSP 400, 510, 550, and Sony DA260 USB)
