Tech Central Services
Tech Central offers a multitude of technical services for all Pepperdine University students.
Every technical issue is different. Please note for major computer problems, Tech Central may direct students to their service-provider such as: Dell, HP, or Apple. For question regarding services call Tech Central at: (310) 506-4811. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.
Troubleshooting and Problem Diagnosis for Student Devices
Tech Central will diagnose most student technology issues including: computers, email, WaveNet, mobile devices, security and network registration. Whenever possible, technicians will provide students with industry best-practices and recommendations for optimal technology use.
Based upon diagnostic results, Tech Central technicians will either repair, or recommend, the best course of action for the issue. If the repair requires more than a few hours to complete, students should expect a 1-2 day waiting period between drop-off and pick-up.
Dell In-warranty Hardware Repair
Tech Central technicians will repair hardware on Dell computers that are under warranty. Dell warranties can be checked by visiting the Dell warranty website.
Installation of Anti-virus Protection
Tech Central encourages all students to install anti-virus software on personal computers. Tech Central staff can help with the installation of this software. We recommend Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition as a viable security solution for both Mac OS and Windows devices. This software can be downloaded for free from the Sophos website.
