Tech Central Services

Tech Central offers free and fee-based technical services for all Pepperdine University students. All fee-based services must be paid with a credit or debit card.

Students should expect 3-5 days wait time for drop-off repairs. Some minor problems can be fixed while student waits. Please note that all major computer problems are directed to the service-provider such as Dell, HP, or Apple. For question about fees or services call Tech Central at (310) 506-4811.

Free Services

Tech Central offers several free services for Pepperdine students. Call Tech Central at (310) 506-4811 during business hours for a free consultation.

  • Troubleshooting and Problem Diagnosis for Student Laptops

    Tech Central will diagnose student laptop problems for free. Whenever possible, technicians will provide students with options and advice for repair.

  • Equipment fixes

    Tech Central technicians will fix minor technical problems for free for students. If the problem requires significant time or expertise, technicians will inform the client of possible charges for the fix. (Note: Fixes related to viruses, software installation, or hardware are fee-based services.)

  • Dell In-warranty Hardware Repair

    Tech Central technicians will repair hardware on Dell computers that are under warranty. Dell warranties can be checked by visiting the Dell warranty website.

  • Installation of Anti-virus Protection

    Tech Central encourages all students to install anti-virus software when they enter the University. Tech Central staff can help with the installation of this software. Windows anti-virus software, Microsoft Security Essentials, can be downloaded free of charge. Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition, anti-virus software for Macs, can be downloaded for free from the Sophos website.

    Tech Central technicians will provide free consultation to students who want to purchase a new laptop or desktop computer.

  • Email Support
