Director of Career Development - Michelle Feinstein
Michelle Feinstein is the Director of Career Development for the Career Development Office (CDO). Before joining the CDO, Michelle was General Counsel and Vice President of Business Affairs for Grill Concepts, Inc., a national restaurant chain owner and operator. In that position, Michelle managed the company's real estate portfolio, negotiated leases and corporate agreements, supervised litigation matters, and handled legal issues in numerous areas, including intellectual property, construction, and marketing/social media. Prior to joining Grill Concepts, Michelle was an associate in the real estate department at Pircher, Nichols & Meeks in Los Angeles. She received her B.A. in political science from Tufts University and her law degree from the University of Southern California Law School, where she was a staff member on the Southern California Law Review. Michelle also has significant experience working in government. Before law school, she spent nearly three years working for the Department of Justice in Washington D.C. in the Outstanding Scholars Program as a Paralegal Specialist. Michelle is admitted to the State Bar of California.
As Associate Director of the CDO, Michelle advises students and alumni in career planning, job search strategies, resume preparation, interviewing skills, and networking in legal and professional markets; organizes career forums and alumni networking events; establishes and maintains relationships with legal employers; and acts as a liaison between students, alumni, and employers. Michelle's primary focus is transactional law and in-house careers.
Associate Director of Career Development - Alexis Joyce
Alexis Joyce is an Associate Director in the Career Development Office (CDO). She received her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from St. John's University. Before joining the CDO, Alexis worked in the Career Services Office at Southwestern Law School, where she advised students, conducted employer outreach, and organized career fairs. While in law school, she worked at a mid-sized firm that specialized in insurance defense. Alexis primarily focused on construction defect cases. She also has experience working for the Ventura County Public Defender's Office.
As Associate Director of the CDO, Alexis advises students and alumni in career planning, job search strategies, resume preparation, interviewing skills, and networking in legal and professional markets; organizes career forums and alumni networking events; establishes and maintains relationships with legal employers; and acts as a liaison between students, alumni, and employers. Alexis primarily focuses on careers in public interest and government.
Associate Director of Career Development - Chalak Richards
Chalak Richards is an Associate Director in the Career Development Office. Her law practice focused on immigration law as a Senior Associate at the Law Office of Sylvia Esparza in Las Vegas and as an Associate at Benson Lee and Associates, specializing in removal defense and affirmative petitions before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Chalak appeared regularly before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. She previously worked as a Law Clerk in the Law Office of Adetayo Akinyemi in Toronto. Chalak earned her J.D. from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law and her B.A. from Spelman College. At Pepperdine, she was an award-winning member of the trial team and moot court teams and was Western U.S. Regional Chair of the National Black Law Students Association. Before law school, Chalak was a missionary with Urban Promise Toronto, where she worked with children and youth on academic and spiritual development.
Associate Director of Career Development - Andrea Yang
Andrea Yang is an Associate Director in the Career Development Office, where she advises students and alumni on career planning, job search strategies, resume preparation, interviewing, and networking. She also organizes forums and alumni events, and facilitates communication among students, alumni, and employers. Andrea's counseling areas of expertise include large firm employment and judicial clerkships.
Previously, Andrea worked as a commercial litigator at Dorsey & Whitney LLP (Seattle) and Robins Kaplan LLP (Minneapolis). In her pro bono practice, she represented victims of domestic violence in divorce, political asylum, and Hague Convention proceedings. Andrea additionally served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. She has further served on the Seattle Police Monitoring Team, which oversees the implementation of a federal consent decree entered into by the City of Seattle and the Department of Justice, concerning the Seattle Police Department's use-of-force policies and practices. Andrea is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Harvard University.
Recruiting and Employer Outreach Manager - Jessica Guetzoian
Jessica Guetzoian is the Recruiting and Employer Outreach Manager in the CDO. Jessica grew up in Simi Valley, CA and graduated from CSU, Channel Islands in Camarillo, CA with a degree in Health Science. She is currently earning her Master's Degree in Dispute Resolution with the Straus Institute at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. Before working in the Career Development Office here at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, Jessica worked in student recruitment for the Graziadio Business School at Pepperdine.
Administrator and Event Coordinator - Cathleen Horton
Cathleen Horton is the Administrator and Event Coordinator for the Career Development Office (CDO). Before joining the team at Pepperdine, Cathleen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Baylor University in 2017. She and her husband, Zack, moved to California in order for Zack to further his education at Pepperdine Law.
In her role at the CDO, Cathleen helps students in making appointments with the counselors, requests reciprocity from other schools on a student’s behalf, and assists to coordinate all CDO sponsored events.
