Department of Public Safety Hosts Second Annual Food 4 Fines Program

1 min read

The Department of Public Safety invites eligible students, staff, faculty, and vendors to participate in its second annual Food 4 Fines program to offset up to $100 of parking citations.

Food 4 Fines provides an alternative to paying parking fines by accepting canned good donations until December 16. Donations can be turned in to the Department of Public Safety office on the Malibu campus Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

The number of canned goods being accepted and the dollar amount equivalents are as follows:

Number of Cans

Fine Amount

8 cans

16 cans

32 cans

40 cans

All cans collected will be donated to Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, which has been providing food assistance to friends and neighbors in need for more than 40 years.

Please note: fines already paid or transferred to Student Accounts are ineligible. Expired cans will not be accepted. No more than $100 of fines can be offset with cans. You may review your parking account to view citations pending payment.
