How Podcasting Enhanced My Classes
Prof. Gregory Ogden, School of Law
October 6, 2011
Podcasting has been a powerful tool for students learning complex topics. Students of all learning styles benefit from podcasts, especially for classes that they miss. A podcast is better than borrowing class notes, since students do not all take notes in the same way. For really complex topics, many students value the option of hearing the lecture a second time with the opportunity to stop and start the MP3 file. Podcast downloads generally increase in numbers shortly before required tests, showing that students do use these tools for test-related learning. In this presentation, Prof. Gregory Ogden of the School of Law discusses his experience using podcasts in his classes and the benefits offered to students.
