Elluminate: Getting Started

This page contains an Elluminate getting started guide for Pepperdine faculty. To get started with Elluminate, faculty members simply need to log in and begin using their existing course websites. Back to Elluminate Home Page.

Getting Required Software

Elluminate Live! users can check their system compatibility directly at the Elluminate company site by accessing Elluminate Technical Support.The general prerequisites for running Elluminate Live! are:

Windows:

  • Windows 2000, XP, or Vista (32 bit)
  • Pentium III 1 GHz processor

Macintosh:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5
  • G4, G5 or Intel processor

UltraSPARC Solaris:

  • Solaris 10 (SPARC only)
  • UltraSPARC IIc 500 MHz processor

Linux

  • RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 or Novell SUSE Linux 10 (32 bit)
  • Pentium III 1 GHz processor

In addition, all clients require:

  • 256 MB of free RAM
  • 20 MB free disk space
  • 28.8 kbps Internet connection
  • Speaker and Microphone, headsets are preferred

Completing Setup with the Configuration Room

Elluminate provides users with a Configuration Room that can be used to test connection speeds, settings, and automatically configure audio to its optimal level. Though this step is optional, it is highly suggested for first time users.

Note: When joining Elluminate Live! sessions for the first time, a security dialog box may appear to confirm that the application's digital signature if correct. Click "Run" to continue.
