Annual Wildfire Brush Clearance Begins June 15

Starting Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Absolute Brush Clearance will be present on the Malibu campus to perform brush clearance services as part of the University's overall campus wildfire prevention strategy. This work is required by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and includes the maintenance of brush, grass, trees, and other vegetation in various areas across campus over the course of the next few weeks. Work will be scheduled Monday through Saturday, between 8 AM and 5 PM, though work will not begin until after 10 AM near residences. The Department of Facilities Services anticipates a completion date no later than July 15, 2022.

While this work will have minimal impacts on the campus, noise may be heard coming from brush cutters, chainsaws, and blowers near locations where the brush clearance team is at work. There will also be a large Waste Management dumpster in the lower Phillips Theme Tower Lot parking area

If you have questions about this work or are concerned it may affect a scheduled campus event, please contact Facilities Services at 310.506.4101 for assistance.
