Before You Arrive Tech Checklist

New Pepperdine students should try these simple steps below to make their transition to Pepperdine University as smooth as possible.
Step 1. Check Computer Requirements
Check if your computer or the computer you want to buy is compatible or recommended for use by your academic division.
Step 2. Update Your Browser and Web Plugins
The most effective defense against internet attacks is to the keep your computer browser up-to-date with the latest security patches. Update your browser and plug-ins now to prevent an attack on your computer by visiting browsercheck.pepperdine.edu.
Step 3. Install AntiVirus Software
Antivirus software is a necessary defense against malicious programs on your computer. If you do not already have antivirus software, you can download free Antivirus software recommended by Pepperdine IT with the links below.
Step 4. Create/Update MyID profile
Maintaining an accurate MyID profile allows you to reset your password yourself via a PIN sent to a mobile device or an alternate email address at anytime. Update your profile by visiting myid.pepperdine.edu.
