A Conversation with DeMaurice Smith, Reflections on NFL Labor Relations, Advocacy, and Ethics

On March 13, 2024, in the Mendenhall Appellate Courtroom from 4 PM to 5:30 PM, join DeMaurice F. Smith, executive director of the National Football League Players' Association (NFLPA) and visiting professor for Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, for a conversation with Maureen Weston, Brandon Leopoldus, and Bobby Hacker from the Sports Lawyer Association, and Pepperdine law student Taylor Jennings. Smith will reflect on his years leading the NFL Players' Association, the process of collective bargaining, strikes, and other major issues impacting players, as well as activism, ethics, advocacy, the Rooney Rule, and what he sees as the most significant issues facing labor relations and the NFL.
