Upcoming Spring Recruitment
Panhellenic Spring Recruitment:
Did you know that 30% of undergraduate women at Pepperdine join a sorority? Participating in sorority recruitment in the fall is one of many ways to get plugged into campus, establish solid friendships, and personally develop into strong leaders. Pepperdine has seven National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities that participate in primary recruitment in the fall semester, but there are still opportunities to join in the spring. Sometimes chapters have open spots in their rosters in the spring due to members going abroad and members graduating early in December. Some chapters may have 2-7 spots open and look to take new members whether they are spring admits, transfers, or continuing students.
Since this type of recruitment is informal, there is no application, registration fees, or structured schedule. Each chapter
has it's own informal recruitment schedule and has it's own way of extending bids/invitations.
Some chapters may advertise their events while others might be invitation-only. If
you're not sure where to start, email the Greek Life Advisor to learn more about spring recruitment opportunities!
Still not sure if joining a sorority in the fall is right for you? That's perfectly fine too! Pepperdine has so many opportunities to explore, some women wait a semester (or even a year or two) before making the decision to go Greek. During fall semesters, all seven chapters will participate in primary recruitment to build their membership. There will be updates starting in the summer about fall recruitment.

National Pan-Hellenic (Divine Nine) Recruitment Dates:
The National Pan-Hellenic Council, most commonly known as the "Divine Nine", is a national council of nine historically African-American Greek-letter organizations. Pepperdine is proud to host two NPHC chapters, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. While the chapters honor their proud heritage, membership into the NPHC is open to all students who are interested in the organization, regardless of their cultural background. To be eligible to join Alpha Kappa Alpha or Alpha Phi Alpha, a student must have completed one semester of college credit and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Fall first-year students are first eligible spring semester and returning sophomores through seniors may join in the fall.
Each chapter will advertise their own intake (recruitment) events later in spring semester so be on the look out for flyers and advertisement!
Come by HAWC 112 or email the Greek Life Advisor for more information about their membership intake processes!
Interfraternity Council (IFC) Recruitment
Pepperdine's Interfraternity Council (IFC) is a council of nationally recognized fraternities that are dedicated to service, campus involvement, academic excellence, and philanthropy. With one in five men Greek-affiliated, our fraternity makes up a vital part of the campus. Wondering if Greek membership is for you? Similarly to Panhellenic chapters, some fraternities will hold spring recruitment to take more members. Be on the look out for chapters tabling or promotional flyers for their events. There will be structured fall recruitment next semester in which all four chapters will take a new member class.
