Help Serve the Community at This Year's Step Forward Day

Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to join Pepperdine’s annual Step Forward Day on Saturday, September 12, 2026, for a day of service across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Established in 1988 by two Seaver College students, Step Forward Day creates meaningful opportunities for the Pepperdine community to serve local organizations, deepen their understanding of community needs, foster lasting connections, and discover greater purpose through service. This year, more than 30 service projects will be available both on campus and throughout the region.

On-campus opportunities include assembling hygiene kits for local unhoused communities, packing school-supply backpacks for elementary school students, and participating in The Aerin Project by writing letters that create meaningful connections. Off-campus projects include partnerships with Food Share, Hope the Mission, It’s Bigger Than Us, Many Mansions, St. Joseph Center, and Urban Promise Los Angeles.
