2025 Virtual Pacific Crest Trail Expedition
Outdoor Recreation invites you to participate in the 2025 Virtual Pacific Crest Trail Expedition!
The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650-mile-long hike from the border of Mexico to the border of Canada, crossing through the states of California, Oregon, and Washington. During this 10-week challenge, which takes place in the Spring term, you and your team of 8 to 12 people can walk, hike, bike, swim, attend fitness classes, etc., to collectively travel the PCT. Last year, 428 students, staff, and faculty (46 teams) virtually hiked from the Border of Mexico to the Border of Oregon (1,690 miles!), with quite a few teams completing the entire Pacific Crest Trail!
This year, we will attempt to tackle the entire trail from the Border of Mexico to the Border of Canada (2,650 miles)! As you participate, there will be opportunities to earn epic prizes by passing milestones by their deadlines and earn double miles by attending community hikes, featured fitness classes, and events!
This event is free (no cost to register!) and was designed to build community, foster friendly competition, and motivate others to stay active and enjoy the outdoors in any capacity. We invite all Pepperdine students, staff, and faculty to participate!
If you'd like to learn more about Outdoor Recreation’s Virtual PCT Expedition this year and how you can participate, check out the website and feel free to reach out to kiana.ramli@pepperdine.edu with any questions you may have.
Assemble your team of 8-12 members and mark your calendars to register between January 6th and January 27th, 2025!
