Celebrating Day of the Dead at GSEP

The Center for Global Partnerships and Learning invites you to join us in celebrating the Day of the Dead. This year's ofrenda has been created in the second-floor lounge area. We invite you to stop by and help yourselves to a sweet or two. The ofrenda will be up through the 9th of November.

If you have loved ones that you would like remembered, prayed over, and added to our ofrenda during our Day of the Dead celebrations, please email a picture and brief blurb (optional) to Dr. Lina Safa (Lina.Safa@pepperdine.edu) or Dr. Gabriella Miramontes (gabriella.miramontes@pepperdine.edu)  and they will be added to the ofrenda in WLA (if you sent in a picture last year, they will automatically be placed). If you prefer to just send in their name, we can add them to our prayer list as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to direct them to Dr. Miramontes. Please note that you do NOT have to be of Latino/a descent to participate, all are welcome.

Day of the Dead: A Celebration of Life and Remembrance

The Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a vibrant and meaningful celebration that honors deceased loved ones in Mexican and Latin American cultures. This unique festival, characterized by colorful decorations, elaborate altars, and lively gatherings, takes place annually from October 31st to November 2nd, coinciding with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
