GSEP Faculty Member nominated for the Community Light Award for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Westside Coalition

Dr. Shanetta Weatherspoon was nominated and selected for the Community Light Award for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Westside Coalition. She will receive the award for her service in the Los Angeles County community at the National Holiday Celebration on Monday, January 16th at 9am. 

The event will have civil rights icon, Dr. Ben Chavis Jr. as a keynote speaker. The festivities will also include inspirational remarks, music, and dance! Masks will be required for the event. The celebration will be at John Adams Middle School Performing Arts Center at 2425 16th St. Santa Monica, CA. Street parking will be available on Pearl, 16th, and 17th streets.
