Echoes of Resilience: The Lebanese-American Musical Legacy

Join the Center for Global Partnerships & Learning in celebration of Arab American Heritage Month on Wednesday, April 16 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM PST with a powerful and immersive evening featuring renowned Lebanese-American conductor and educator Dr. Joanna Medawar Nachef. This year’s theme, “Rooted in Heritage, Rising with Resilience: Arab American Stories of Strength and Impact,” comes to life through the universal language of music as we explore how Lebanese Americans have preserved, shaped, and elevated cultural identity through the arts. Through a captivating keynote and musical journey, Dr. Nachef will share her experiences as the first woman conductor from the Middle East. She will highlight the Lebanese-American community's resilience and music's transformative power in bridging cultures. Don’t miss this inspiring celebration of heritage, resilience, and the musical legacy of Lebanese Americans.

The event will take place at the West LA campus in room #203 and will be conducted via Zoom. Dinner will be provided for those who attend in person.
