Caruso Law Cafeteria Closed July 11-31

Earlier this year, Pepperdine University announced the selection of Bon Appétit as the campus’s new dining services partner. Bon Appétit will begin service to Pepperdine on August 1, 2022, and the University is excited to welcome them to campus. We remain thankful to Sodexo for their service and dedication to our community. As we approach this transition, we are pleased to provide you with a few updates below.

Modified Dining Locations in July

To successfully transition dining partners, all involved are working to complete the many required tasks with minimal disruption to the campus community. However, not everything can be done without some temporary closures. To that end, most regular campus dining locations will be closed from July 11 to July 31, 2022. Nature’s Edge and Starbucks will remain open until July 22 and will then be closed through July 31. During these times, Sodexo will continue to provide dining services to the Pepperdine community and the camps on campus through a combination of food trucks and pre-packaged to-go meals. Considerations for quality, variety, pricing, and timeliness have been made to ensure the needs of our community have been taken into account.

Breakfast trucks will be available at Adamson Plaza, seven days a week, between 7 AM and 10 AM. Prepackaged lunches will be available at Nature’s Edge, Monday through Friday, until July 22, and will be available at Waves Cafe between 11 AM and 1:30 PM from July 23 to July 31. Dinner trucks will be available at Adamson Plaza, seven days a week, between 5 PM and 7:30 PM. These modified hours and food pickup locations will be updated each week on the Pepperdine Dining Services website.

Meal points and cash payment options are available throughout the entire transition process, and credit cards may be used until July 22.

The Business Services team has worked with many stakeholders whose events or programming needs special attention during this transition. We are glad to work with all on campus to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Business Services at 310.506.4551.

Waves Cash and Waves Cash Global

Student meal plan points will expire at the end of the academic terms as usual. Unused Waves Cash and Waves Cash Global point balances will carry through the transition. You will NOT lose these points, and community members may continue to use these points at campus dining locations during the transition.

Bon Appétit

The Pepperdine community is eager to get to know our new dining partner and their offerings. In the following weeks, we will roll out announcements about the various new staff members, what you can expect in the dining locations, exciting events, and ways to get involved.

In advance of this messaging, we want to ensure you know catering is a top priority, as many events are scheduled in August and September. Hospitality is a distinctive aspect of our community life together, and food plays an important role in many events large and small. While additional information will become available as Bon Appétit assumes operations in August, you may have an upcoming event you would like to discuss in detail. We invite you to connect with Bon Appétit to learn more about their sample menus, knowing that Bon Appétit regularly customizes menus and is pleased to speak about your specific needs. To discuss your event in more detail, please contact John Leone, campus dining services manager, via email at john.leone@cafebonappetit.com.
