Please Declare Your School of Public Policy Specialization!

SPP’s Master of Public Policy degree requires 50 semester units of coursework over two academic years. While your first year is primarily composed of the "James Q. Wilson" Core Curriculum, you can explore your areas of specialization during your second semester next spring! By declaring your specialization now, we will know how many and what type of elective classes to offer for the Spring 2025 Term and in your second year of studies, and this also allows you to track your degree audit progress in Wavenet.

To declare your specialization, you must fill out this Google Form with your Pepperdine Email Account: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdTquyrnaXBv8asV63E42AN7OBpP_6G6MOWr_4GcHiIuBV5FA/viewform Please reach out to CJ Jones if you have any questions about this process.

Our specialization tracks include:

• Applied Economic Policy

• American Policy and Politics

• International Relations and National Security

• Public Policy and Dispute Resolution*

• State and Local Policy

*NOTE: limited spaces are available to pursue the Dispute Resolution (DR) specialization. Final approval will not be granted until the conclusion of the Fall 2024 Term once the committee has reviewed “DR” applications and Fall grades. The deadline and link to apply for the DR specialization will be announced later.

You may also review the below link for more information about our current specialization tracks. https://publicpolicy.pepperdine.edu/master-public-policy/specializations/

You may declare up to two specializations unless you are a joint/dual degree student. Then, you may only pursue one area of specialization. Don’t worry; you may change/modify your specializations at any time before your final semester (the record for specialization changes is 14 times) and as long as you adhere to all requirements for graduation. Please have a look at the School of Public Policy 2024-2025 Academic Catalog for additional information. https://publicpolicy.pepperdine.edu/academics/catalog/
