Thrive!
Tuesdays 2 PM
Wednesdays 5 PM
Thursdays 11 AM
This is a one-time, 1-hour group that will help you understand key aspects of what it takes to grow and thrive in the midst of challenging circumstances. The group will explore why we get stuck in negative cycles and the importance of developing healthy habits to create lasting change.
Finding Your Calm
Thursdays 9-10:20 AM, starting Sept. 30th
This is a 6-week structured therapy group designed to help you learn effective strategies for
coping with anxiety using cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness skills, and acceptance-based
strategies. Group members will also have an opportunity to learn how to work on self-criticism
and explore personal values.
(A 30-minute group information session is required.)
Understanding Self and Others
Tuesdays 3-4:30 PM, starting Sept. 28th
This weekly therapy group is designed to foster greater self-awareness and more satisfying relationships
by exploring how your background and upbringing affect your relationships, becoming
more aware of your thoughts and feelings, and exploring your "here-and-now" feelings
with other group members.
(A 30-minute group information session is required.)
Psycho-educational Workshop
Mindfulness Group
Fridays 12-1 PM, starting Oct. 8th
This weekly drop-in group is designed to help you spend more time living in the present moment. Weekly mindfulness practice may help you better manage challenging emotions or circumstances, while accepting things as they are in order to mindfully proceed. Each group has a different theme and usually includes introductory comments, guided meditation, silent practice time, and closing comments as well as offering a new daily life practice for the week.
Support Groups
Black Student Support Group
Thursdays 5-6 PM, starting Sept. 30th
The BSSG will provide a place for Black students to discuss their experience of being
Black at a predominantly White institution (PWI) in general and at Pepperdine specifically.
The group will be a place that fosters a sense of belonging and nurturing. The goal
of these gatherings is for students to be seen, validated, and encouraged.

International Student Support Group
Wednesdays 4-5 PM, starting Sept. 22nd
International students face unique challenges when studying in the U.S. or during
distance learning in their home countries. This support group is a safe space where
you can connect with other students, learn about helpful resources, and discover your
cultural strengths.

School of Law Support Group
Thursdays 3-4 PM, starting Sept. 23rd
Join this support group to connect with your peers, discuss what's on your mind, and
find support amidst the challenges of law school.

Recovery Peer Support Group
Mondays 3-4 PM, starting Sept. 20th
Get the support you need on your alcohol and drug recovery journey. Share your experiences,
get connected with your peers, and know that you are not alone.

Veteran Student Support Group
Thursdays from 12-1 PM, starting Sept. 16th
The Student Veteran Support Group (SVSG) will be available for all part-time or full-time student
veterans attending any of Pepperdine's campuses or online programs. The group will
offer a safe space, and foster a sense of community and belonging for veteran students. You
can support each other and share your unique experiences.
