The Great DC Intensive

Join Dr. Sean Jasso, a professor of Economics and Public Policy at Graziadio and SPP for an immersive D.C. trip on Decemeber 10 through 12, 2023.

Each year in December, Dr. Jasso leads a group to D.C. with the aim of total immersion into the national center for political power. The learning aims include:

• Customized policy lecture series with our partner policy school, George Mason University. Selected topics include political polarization, gender and race in the policy context, and national security.
• Policy briefings with institutional experts from Federal agencies such as the Department of Agriculture on how policy is implemented, Lobbying firm on how policy is influenced, and the D.C. national security group on how governing really works.
• Walking lecture with Dr. Jasso at the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and an interior tour of the U.S. Capitol

Further itinerary activities include:

• A private tour of the major City monuments, including Arlington National Cemetery and more.
• Our George Mason partner will provide you with a lovely certificate of completion.
• A private farewell dinner with a lecture from a political action committee board member.

Important Note - your participation in the DC Intensive earns you two professional development points for the Spring 2024 term (you are required to complete eight each term)

The program is great for everyone whether you have or have not been to D.C. The intenseive is designed to maximize time, impact, and affordability. You can also  bring family members and friends outside of SPP.
