Join the Panel Discussion on John Barton's New Book, Better Religion: A Primer for Interreligious Peacebuilding
Friday, February 3, Noon – 1:00 PM Payson Library, Surfboard Room
In his new book, Better Religion: A Primer for Interreligious Peacebuilding, John D. Barton, professor of teaching of religion and director of the Center for
Faith and Learning, argues that for religion's "better" to be realized, interreligious
peacebuilding must honor and directly engage religious differences. In celebration
of the new publication, the Center for Faith and Learning in partnership with Pepperdine
Libraries is pleased to present a panel discussion on the book. Dr. Barton will give
a brief summary and then welcome responses from:
- Rachel Gould, assistant professor of English (Seaver College)
- Sukhsimranjit Singh, the Judge Danny Weinstein managing director of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution (Caruso School of Law)
- Michal Meulenberg, adjunct professor of religion (Seaver College)
The panel discussion will be moderated by Jennifer A. Smith, associate director of the Center for Faith and Learning and associate professor of English (Seaver College). Please RSVP for the event.
